Used 2009 Mercury Mountaineer for Sale

The 2009 Mercury Mountaineer is a midsize SUV that can seat up to seven people across three rows of seats. It’s meant for families who need a vehicle that can seat the entire family or drivers who want an SUV that has a high towing capacity. Thanks to its truck-based platform and available V8 engine, the Mountaineer has up to 7,125 pounds of towing capacity, which is a high figure for the segment. The SUV also has up to two rows of roomy backseats and a quiet cabin. Lastly, Mercury sells the Mountaineer with upscale luxury features that some of its competitors don’t have.

The Mountaineer separates itself from the pack with its available V8 engine, high towing capacity, and premium features. Keep in mind, though, it trails key rivals when it comes to engine performance, ride quality, fuel economy, interior materials, and a tight third row. The Mountaineer’s standard 210-horsepower V6 engine is underpowered for the class and delivers dull acceleration. And compared to other midsize SUVs in the class, the Mountaineer lags with poor fuel economy figures. Its ride quality also isn’t as comfortable or as refined as rivals because of its truck-based platform. Lastly, legroom in the Mountaineer’s available third row is tight, making the seats small for adults.
